Abbreviated Work Statement

This series began in 2022 with a simple photogram of Anchor Hocking glass inherited through my grandmother. I was initially interested in collections as a theme for a new project, but quickly became mesmerized by the enigmatic qualities of glass and took the project in a more objective direction. Glass featured in the 'Heritage Glass' series is largely Ohio made, with a few exceptions thrown in to encompass the surrounding Ohio Valley region. I began fastidiously researching the glass boom and manufacturing processes, industrial impact on the area, and the crumbling leftovers of the era. 

Glass in the collection ranges from the American Brilliant Period (roughly 1870 - WWI) up to the Mid-Century post WWII. Companies such as Libbey, Fostoria, Federal, A.H. Heisey, Cambridge, Fenton, and others are accounted for. Also included are photographs from museums, conventions, and images made from my interpretation of the industry.
